> MENUS FROM MAYAN BEACH GARDEN INN |
|
The restaurant at
Mayan Beach Garden features a daily set menu that is selected to appeal
to a wide variety of tastes. We use fresh ingredients, and serve primarily
Mexican food, occasionally mixing it up with a touch of Italian, Pan-Asian
and American. We provide both local Mayan recipes from the Yucatan and
those from other areas of Mexico.
The
Meal Package at Mayan Beach Garden includes the set menu*. When
you make reservations, please communicate food allergies, particular
likes and dislikes and we will try to accommodate your needs in advance.
*Sodas
and Alcoholic beverages are available for an extra fee.

NOTE: Weather and conditions permitting, guests can eat in the
dining room, take your meal outside under your Palapa
covered deck, or in the outside dining area. Our goal is to make your visit the best it can be. |

The Yucatan is home to many exotic fruits that will never find their way into US stores. The fruit pictures above is Pitahaya or Dragon fruit, which is in season in the June/July time frame. The closest fruit that I can compare it is Kiwi but with a firmer texture and is about the size of a medium orange. The seeds are tiny and don't get in the way when you eat, in fact when chewed, they are quite yummy. When in season, we will serve it for desert, chilled and eaten with a spoon right out of the magenta colored rind --delicious!
(Note: Pitahaya is currently banned from importation in the US. Fruit growers in states like California and Arizona have begun commercial production, so this may soon show up in specialty grocery stores) |
