Location: Various points along the Mahahual Malecon

OPENING FESTIVAL 18:30/6:30 Plaza Martillo

Chaired by Mr. Carlos Mario Villanueva Tenorio, Mayor of Othon P. Blanco.

It is suggested to attend deressed in white:

Women with blouse or suit

Men wearing guayabera, white pants, and if possible, sandal and hat

NAUTICAL PROCESSION- 19:00/7:00. Plaza Martillo

Along the Malecon the boats will be launched into where flowers will be tossed into the sea as an offering.

MAYAN CEREMONY - 20:30/8:30. Plaza Martillo

Prayer to the Mother Earth, offered by priests from Tihosuco, Q. Roo to keep hurricanes and bad times away from the place and bless the land.

Mahahual Jats'a Ja 2012

Photography contest - Jats'a-Ja
Mahahual is proud to celebrate the 5th annual festival of Jats'a ja' on 16-19th of August, 2012. This year, the celebration will span 4 days and add more exhibits and activities.  Even if you cannot attend, you can participate in this event by entering your photos of Mahahual and the Costa Maya in the 5th annual photography contest.  The best photos will be  printed up and displayed for Jats'a ja' festival visitors.  Prizes are given out at the closing ceremony which promises to be even better than last year. You do not have to be in attendance to win.
